Cyprus LNG Import Terminal Reaches 80% Completion Ahead of Schedule

Construction of Cyprus's first liquefied natural gas import terminal at Vasilikos has reached 80% completion, with commissioning scheduled for September 2026. The floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) will have a storage capacity of 125,000 cubic meters.

LNG terminal

The terminal will enable Cyprus to transition its power generation from heavy fuel oil to natural gas, reducing carbon emissions from the electricity sector by an estimated 30%.
